Computer Security Seminar Report and Material
I want to make a simple report, regarding to my chance to give a lecture in Seminar. It was so interesting experience. The topic told about Network and Computer Security perspective. And college is not an IT college, but focusing in Economics and Management.
The students who attended the seminar were asking much about the computer security attack especially about the computer viruses. It makes me remember 14 years a go when I was still an undergraduate student. I sometimes caught virus. Its name was jebak.com while the viruses mostly in DOS environment. But well, I didn't talk about it more.
Basically computer security is very important. Most of us, usually didn't give any attention except our computer is hang, or stop working. These problems make many people wonder how to solve them. I suggested for windows operating system user, to boot into their Safe Mode and trying to make sure whether hidden program is run by unknown program. Simply run the msconfig and regedit. But perhaps you will need more about these topics by googling and wikipedia website.
I think I need to share the slides. I also quot some slides from my senior lecturer, Rudi Lumanto, because I think the material is good enough.
Later I will try to tell more about my seminar experience, whether I just and attende or presenter. Hopefully, you can share knowledge as much as you want. It will make people arround you happier. But there is a note, the seminar material is in mix of Bahasa Indonesia and English. I'll try to make it available 100% in English later.

New interesting toy: Google Wave
Following the popularity of the web 2.0 and social networking, it will become more interesting if Internet Giant, Google also become the key player. You will be shocked if this new Google Wave service is available for the public.
I also interested to try, although Wave was talked for a couple weeks a go. Honestly I send this message to Google when I sign up for Wave testing.
This service, Google Wave will be most popular social networking site. But it will depend how serious Google develop and maintain.
I just curious if the Wave is launched for public, did it will down like Gmail problem a couple months a go.
Please let me test this new service.
Yahoo! Open Hack Day 2009 in Jakarta
It was a very long time. But finally Yahoo! will launch its first open hack day in Jakarta. Before you read this blog, and if you interest, directly click this link to sign up. Harry up!
The two-day event will be held on Nov 21 and 22, 2009. Jakarta will be the place the event. Don't worry if you live near Indonesia, especially for South East Asia countries. There are many direct flight to Jakarta.
In this event, you can meet with fellow hackers and well-known Web Developer. The seat is limited to 200 participants.
Before this event in Jakarta, Yahoo is already held at London, to Taipei, Bangalore, Sao Paulo, and New York City. Beside the technology will be discuss such as Yahoo Application Platform, Blueprint, YQL, Geo Technologies and so on.

Network security seminar at STIE Bisnis Indonesia
Insha Allah, if God will, I will give a speech on a 2 hours seminar at STIE Bisnis Indonesia, a Business School located at Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta. Hopefully I can share a little bit about Network security and ethical hacking there tomorrow noon.
The seminar also open to everyone, especially for students of STIE Bisnis Indonesia. But I don't know exactly whether the seminar committee charge some fee.

Installing LightWord WP Themes
I've register this domain waktoo.com about a month a go. But nothing change until I think that I need a specific website and tell about the technology. Since I still don't know what technology I've got, I think may be web browsing experience I will share on this blog.
So what the relation with the title above? Of course I want to share you. At first I open wordpress website and wow.... I've got new simple WP Themes there. There're some themes attracted my eyes. But I think I just need a simple and light one.
So I decided to put LightWord on my public_html folder. It's amazing. You can see this frontpage.

Block unwanted Flash Advertisement in Mozilla Firefox
On this amazing web 2.0 era, there are so many website using Flash content flash. For example Youtube. But did you know if Flash Advertisement on a website, can make your computer a little bit slow or hang?
By read this tips probably we can help you. You know, Firefox has addons to manage and support its browser. When you just want to block disturbing and annoying Flash Ads, you need to install and activate Flash Block.
For example, my Windows XP box is using Firefox 3.0.14. Just click this Flash Block URL. Your computer will display this 
And don't worry please to click Install Now. It won't destroy your computer. After that, you need to click Add To Firefox button.
Now your Flash Block is installed. And let me see what happen. When you open a website. The flash ads will be replaced like this
And when you move your mouse pointer to the ads, it will display like a play button.
Since now on, of course your web browsing activity will run faster than before. Whenever you need to know what behind the flash block icon, just click it.
Perhaps you still want to know what will being blocked by this addons. They will be:
- Macromedia Flash
- Macromedia Shockwave
- Macromedia Authorware
Don't forget too, you can add whitelist to your favorite website. You just need to click from menu:
Tools -> Add-ons -> Flash Block -> Options -> Whitelist
