Trouble installing Acer Aspire 2920z wifi driver on Ubuntu 8.04

Until I'm still confuse how to configure installing the wifi driver on my Aspire 2920z. If I use windows XP, no problem at all. But when try using Ubuntu 8.04, everytime I try to install the driver, the problem was still exist. I read the guide from another blog, but still not works.

Although I've ever sucess installing the mad wifi driver when I still using Ubuntu 7.04 or 7.10, the 8.04 version really made me headache. Anybody can help? But I also prepare the solution. It so simple. Just trying to remove the 8.04 version and install completely new and fresh from oven Ubuntu 9.10. Hopefully my wifi driver, Atheros 5007 works well. But I will also share information, if the 8.04 version success too.

Learn Java again after 13 years

First time I knew Java from my lecturer. They were Brury Trya Sartana and Mohammad Fakhrurrazi. They are senior lecturer at Budi Luhur University. I copied the book, if I'm not wrong, Teach yourself Java in 14 Days. And It happened almost 13 years a go. I didn't care anything about it. I didn't explore and learn further about Java although I have many Java books collection or even ebooks.

So why I comeback learning Java Programming? You know, my first job title was Software Engineer in one of the most prominent software development company in Jakarta. Basically I like to write code, test, debug and make software documentation. But I change my mind after one and an half years to become System Administrator. I bored with coding, making my head sick and headache. So after that I time, I was completely system engineer, system administrator, network engineer and related job position.

Back to what I say, why I want to learn again Java. I see my friends create and develop new application by their own coding. There are various software products such as ERP, CRM, SRM, Hospitality Information System, et cetera. I want too, create new products. May be I can sell. Or may be I can give some training/lecture regarding about my new skill. So I think, since now on, I want to be a software developer again, especially in Java.

Beside I live in Java island :-) I know Java is more promising than any other programming language. May be next week I'll start learning Java whenever and whereever.

Oh yeah, there was also something that triggered me to learn Java. You know, I'm also conduct some research in software engineering. I teach software engineering class. And sometimes I got some projects and act as Project Manager. So if my partner or my staff has some lack or even they left me, so I still can responsible and continue the project. Who knows? Because what ever the circumstance and condition will be, we also need to address the worst-case scenario. But we hope that bad things do not happen to us.

So I think it is not too late. Since my previous education in undergraduate degree and I also had experience as software engineer, so it's not a difficult task to learn, maybe from scratch, take a learn and study about java programming. Hopefully i will got some benefit if I learn again, although I already throw Java books almost 13 years a go.
